Plan 14

Plan 14 is part of the NECA/IBEW Family Medical Care Plan, specifically designed for Construction Electricians and Wiremen. This comprehensive health fund offers a variety of benefits to ensure the well-being of members and their families.

Eligibility and Enrollment

  • Who Can Enroll: Employees working under a collective bargaining agreement or participation agreement that includes Plan 14, and administrative employees of the Union.
  • Dependents Coverage: Family members meeting the Plan’s definition of a dependent are also eligible.
  • ID Cards: Members receive an Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield ID card for medical services.

Coverage and Benefits

Medical Benefits:

Access to a wide network of healthcare providers through the Blue Card PPO network by Anthem/Blue Cross Blue Shield.

Coverage includes hospital stays, physician visits, and a range of medical services.

Prescription Drug Program:

Comprehensive coverage for prescription medications.

Members benefit from negotiated discounts and extensive pharmacy options.

Dental and Vision Benefits (if applicable):

Dental coverage includes routine checkups, cleanings, and necessary dental procedures.

Vision benefits cover eye exams, glasses, and contact lenses.

Plan Details

Benefit Office: The Trustees are supported by the Benefit Office, which handles day-to-day administration and member services.

Administration

The Plan is administered by the Board of Trustees with the support of American Benefit Corp.

The Board comprises Union Appointed Trustees from IBEW Local Union and NECA Appointed Trustees from various local companies.

Disability and Life Insurance:

Weekly disability benefits to support members in case of short-term disabilities.

Group term life insurance provides $10,000 in coverage for eligible active employees.

Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) Insurance:

Additional financial protection in the event of severe accidents leading to death or dismemberment.

Individual Special Fund Account:

Allows for saving and managing funds for specific medical expenses or other needs.
